Select the Event Type that best describes the kind of event you are having.  Selecting the appropriate type is important for reporting and calendaring.

Please note: Permissions determine which Event Types you can choose from. There can only be one Event Type per event and cannot be changed once submitted.

Ceremony / Memorial / Observance

A formal religious or public occasion, typically one is celebrating or memorializing a particular event or person. Back to Top

Class Related

A meeting or event that is related to a class, subject, or discipline but is not within the academic syllabus. Back to Top

Conference / Community Forum

A conference is a formal meeting for discussion will have an agenda and a program of activities planned.  A community forum is a meeting used to engage with others to debate, share knowledge and community with others. Back to Top 

Counseling / Advising

A program where advice and guidance are given to resolve personal, social, or psychological challenges and difficulties. Back to Top 

Exhibit

Public display of an object or collection of objects of interest. Back to Top 

Film

The showing of a motion picture; a movie. Back to Top 

Fundraiser / Auction

An event held to generate financial support for a charity or other enterprise. Back to Top 

Game / Meet / Match / Tournament

A form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck. Back to Top 

Health / Well-Being

A program or event that promotes the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy. Back to Top 

Lecture / Presentation / Debate / Panel

A formal educational talk or discussion on a particular topic or discussion, investigation on a particular matter. Back to Top 

Meeting / Info Session

An assembly of people, especially the members of a group or committee, for discussion or entertainment. Back to Top 

Open House / Fair / Trade Show

An assembly where all visitors are welcome, for the community or for exhibition or productions and services. Back to Top 

Performance

An act of staging or presenting a play, concert, or other forms of entertainment. Back to Top 

Rally / Protest

An act of bringing together a group or community in order to support a cause or for concerted action. Back to Top 

Reception / Social Event / Meal

A formal or ceremonious social occasion held to celebrate an event or person(s) where food is normally present. Back to Top 

Rehearsal / Practice

A practice or trial performance of a play or other work for later public performance. Back to Top 

Tabling

Informal gathering outside of a venue or building where a group can raise awareness and garner support for an issue, advertise for events, and recruit new members. Back to Top 

Tour

An event or activity for business, pleasure, or education often involving a series of stops and ending at the starting point. Back to Top 

Workshop / Seminar / Training

A brief intensive education program for a relatively small group of people that focuses especially on techniques and skills in a particular field. Back to Top
